Federal Way residents have a variety of events and civic opportunities approaching, including City Council meetings, voter registration initiatives, and several cultural and family-focused activities.
The Federal Way City Council is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, located on the second floor in Council Chambers at 33325 8th Ave. S. These meetings occur every first and third Tuesday of each month, providing residents an opportunity to stay informed on local governance.
Ahead of the Nov. 3 election, El Centro de la Raza is hosting two “Roll & Register” Skate Nights. These events aim to encourage young adult voter registration. Each night will feature two sessions, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. The first 250 skaters aged 18-24 at each session will receive free admission with a valid ID, though free admission is not contingent on voter registration. Both sessions will include a live DJ, giveaways, and on-site voter registration assistance. Organizers state the initiative is designed to make civic participation feel approachable and to remove common barriers to registration.
For family-friendly fall fun, the Federal Way Community Center, located at 876 S 333rd St, is hosting two events. The Third Annual Pumpkin Plunge is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a unique pumpkin picking experience in the pools, where participants can swim with and then take home a floating pumpkin. Admission is $10 for youth and $12 for adults, with registration available online. Additionally, the Tricks n’ Treats 2026 event will provide a Halloween adventure packed with games, sweet treats, and festive memories. This event runs from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and costs $7 per child, with adults admitted free. Early registration is encouraged to secure a spot.
Live performances are also a prominent feature of Federal Way’s upcoming calendar. Centerstage Theatre presents “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” at Dumas Bay Centre, located at 3200 SW Dash Point Rd. This adaptation of Washington Irving’s tale is rated PG-13 for suspense and occasional frights, with tickets and showtimes available through the theater’s website.
