Three individuals have been arrested and booked on charges of first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a teenage boy in downtown Tacoma on Sunday. The Tacoma Police Department (TPD) confirmed the arrests of two adult men and one adult woman as their investigation into the homicide progresses.

Police officers were initially dispatched to the vicinity of the Commerce Street Station in downtown Tacoma in the early hours of Sunday morning. Authorities responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 2:23 a.m. Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement personnel located a teenage boy who had sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Responding officers promptly initiated life-saving measures in an attempt to stabilize the young victim. These efforts continued until Tacoma fire department personnel arrived to provide further medical assistance. Despite the immediate and sustained efforts by both police and fire crews, the teenage boy was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting.

The incident prompted an extensive investigation by Tacoma Police detectives. In an update released on Tuesday, the police department announced significant developments in the case. Detectives working on the homicide investigation had successfully developed probable cause that led to the identification and arrest of suspects.

The arrest operations occurred over two separate days. On Monday, one of the adult men implicated in the case was taken into custody in east Tacoma. The following day, on Tuesday, the second adult man and the adult woman were apprehended in Yelm. All three individuals have since been formally booked into the Pierce County Jail, where they are being held on suspicion of first-degree murder.

The exact location of the shooting within the Commerce Street Station area was a point of clarification for investigators. While Tacoma Police officials could not definitively confirm whether the shooting incident occurred inside the transit station's parking garage, the investigative activity suggested a strong connection to the facility. On Sunday, following the discovery of the victim, detectives from the Tacoma Police Department, alongside a medical examiner's office van, were observed operating inside an upper level of the parking garage for several consecutive hours. The area surrounding the parking garage was secured with police tape, effectively blocking off access to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic as authorities conducted their initial on-scene examinations and evidence collection.

The Tacoma Police Department has indicated that the investigation into the death of the teenage boy remains active and ongoing. Authorities are urging members of the public who may possess any information related to this case to come forward and contact 911 to assist with the ongoing inquiry.
